The energy amount released in our body depends on the consumed foods. Due to this fact, calories have an important role in our lives and their consumption depend on different factors like age, gender, weight, physical activity, current health, nutrition, environment and social surroundings. Those who consume regularly more with hundreds of calories most probably will gain weight.

Obesity can be avoided with a healthy lifestyle and active physical life. Some individuals won’t get overweight even if they regularly eat more than normal, these could be called the “lucky” ones, but most of us should be realistic when trying to lead a healthy life as most women aren't built to be a size six or weigh 105 pounds and most men aren't destined to have a 30-inch waist.

The majority of us chase the ideal body image, but before we take a good look in the mirror, lets keep in mind that the ideal body image has suffered dramatic changes during the history of mankind, so the importance of persistence and to be realistic in your expectations should be based on focusing on improving your health and fitness by losing body fat, not just weight and not on numbers and changeable expectations alone.
